chifty Knowledge
Google Drive content as a knowledge source for AI
Keep your knowledge connected. Work with your existing sources.
How does AI search Google Drive documents?
chifty Knowledge connects Google Drive as a knowledge source. Approved documents become part of a searchable knowledge base, so employees can ask questions in chifty Chat or prepare email drafts in chifty Office. The AI only draws on content approved for the asking person, and displayed source passages support review.
What gets connected
Google Drive often holds a large part of a company's knowledge: concepts, meeting minutes, proposals, policies, and folder structures that have grown over years. With chifty Knowledge you connect Google Drive as a knowledge source – approved content becomes part of a shared, searchable knowledge base, without copying files or reorganizing anything.
That knowledge is then used where your employees already work: in chifty Chat, they ask questions about the connected documents and get answers with source citations. In chifty Office, approved knowledge flows into email reply drafts – your team always reviews and sends them. Alongside Google Drive, you can also connect OneDrive, SharePoint, and network drives as sources.
Permissions stay intact
Not every document belongs in every answer. That's why chifty follows a simple principle: the AI must not bypass permissions. You decide whether connected knowledge is available to individual people, specific roles and teams, or the whole company – and the AI respects that in every search, every answer, and every draft.
Technically, the permission filter is applied directly in the search, before a result exists – the AI itself cannot influence it. Displayed source passages help reviewers check whether a claim is supported by the original document.
Honest limits
- The connection needs read access to the Google Drive content that should serve as a knowledge source. What isn't connected and approved, the AI cannot use – and that's by design.
- Answers are only as good as the connected content: outdated or contradictory documents are reflected in the answers. The visible source citations help you spot this quickly.
- chifty is a young product. Whether the connection fits your environment is best clarified in a direct conversation – just request access.
