Honest comparison
Chifty vs. Superhuman
As of: August 2026
Superhuman is an email client optimized for speed and keyboard workflows – part of the Grammarly product family since October 2025. Chifty is a knowledge platform: email is one of two layers (next to AI chat) working on top of a permission-aware knowledge base.
The category is the real difference: someone looking for the fastest personal inbox compares different things than a team that wants to bring company knowledge and email work together.
Superhuman fits if …
- maximum speed in your personal inbox is the goal – shortcuts, triage workflows, inbox zero.
- you already work in (or want) the Grammarly/Superhuman suite.
- a primarily English-language interface is no obstacle for you.
- the focus is individual productivity rather than shared company knowledge.
Chifty fits if …
- email work should draw on shared company knowledge – reply drafts built from approved sources, with source references.
- you want a vendor from Germany: hosted in Germany, AI processing in the EU.
- shared inboxes, roles, and permissions matter.
- an on-premise option matters – at Chifty currently a pilot program for selected customers.

The core difference: client speed or knowledge grounding
Superhuman optimizes the interaction with the inbox itself: shortcuts, fast triage, AI-assisted drafts and labels. The goal is the fastest possible personal workflow.
Chifty optimizes what goes INTO the replies: drafts are built from the email thread and from approved company knowledge – price lists, goodwill rules, process descriptions – and show their sources. Nothing is sent automatically; people review and send.
In short: Superhuman makes operating the mailbox faster, Chifty makes the substance of email work better grounded – and connects it with chat and a team knowledge base.
Teams, permissions, and control
Chifty is built for teams: shared inboxes, roles, and the principle that AI must not bypass permissions – every answer draws only on content approved for the respective person. You receive a DPA under Art. 28 GDPR on request or upon contract conclusion.
For organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements there is the on-premise pilot program: running on your own infrastructure with a signed offline license – no license server, no phoning home.
